How to collect wedding photos from your guests
Updated 19 October 2026
Your guests will take hundreds of photos at your wedding, and most of them will never reach you. Here is how to actually collect them.
Why guest photos go missing
A photographer covers the ceremony, the portraits and the speeches. Your guests catch everything else: the table that never stopped laughing, the dance floor at midnight, the moment your grandmother met your best friend. Those photos sit in a hundred different camera rolls. A week later, asking everyone to send theirs gets you a handful, usually the same five.
The fix is to decide before the day where photos go, and make it effortless for guests to put them there while they are still at the party.
The options, honestly
A shared album or cloud folder
Works if your guests all use the same platform and remember to upload afterwards. In practice many don't, some can't (different phones, no account), and you get the photos days later, mixed with screenshots and blurry duplicates. If your wedding has already happened, here is how to get photos from guests after the wedding.
A wedding hashtag
Only collects what people choose to post publicly, on one social network. The best candid moments are rarely the ones people post.
Real disposable cameras on the tables
Fun, and the film look is lovely. But they cost money per camera, many come back half-used, a few go home in pockets, and you wait for developing. You also can't share the results easily. If you'd still like them, here is how many disposable cameras you need for a wedding.
A QR code that opens a shared camera
Guests scan one code and shoot straight into a single roll for your wedding, with no app to download and no account, like a disposable camera app. Photos are collected while the party is happening, so nothing depends on people remembering afterwards. This is how SEENCAM works.
How to set it up with SEENCAM
- Create a roll in the SEENCAM app on your iPhone and give it your wedding's name.
- Choose the rules: how many shots each guest gets, when shooting stops, and when the photos appear (during the event, when it ends, or 12 or 24 hours later).
- Share the code. Save the QR code from the app and print it for the tables, or send the link to guests before the day.
- Guests shoot. On iPhone the camera opens as an App Clip; on any other phone it opens in the browser. Every photo goes into your roll.
- The roll opens. At the time you chose, everyone's photos appear together in one private album. Save your favourites or the whole roll.
Want to try it? SEENCAM gives your guests one QR code. They shoot from their own phones with no app to download, and every photo develops together when the roll opens. Free for up to 10 guests.

- Put the code where people pause: every table, the bar, the guest book, the photo-booth corner. Here is sign wording and where to put the codes.
- Ask the MC to mention it once, early in the reception.
- Give guests a limit. A fixed number of shots makes people think about each photo, like a real disposable camera, and you get better photos rather than more blurry ones.
- Keep photos hidden until the end. Guests stay in the moment instead of scrolling, and the reveal the next morning becomes part of the celebration.
